What to Expect?

My preference is to take photographs outside whenever possible. I love the natural light. I try to keep photo shoots of children and families to an hour. I give general guidelines for posing but try and capture the raw, candid moments as much as possible.  There are many beautiful places in Richmond and the surrounding counties to take photographs and we can find a place that best suites your style. There will be a pre-session consultation to get an idea of your vision for the photos and the details for the shoot.

Session Details

Where: I prefer to take photographs outdoors, on-location in natural light settings. Local parks, your backyard, popular Richmond sites. Boudoir photo shoots will be done in your home with preferences for rooms with a lot of natural light.

When: Early morning or late afternoon make for the best light for photographing. However I know nap times and schedules can make certain times a challenge, so we can try and work with the best time for the family.

Wear: Clothing that makes you feel comfortable and reflects your personality. Try to avoid busy patterns, bright colors or outfits that might clash with other family members' attire. Check out Pinterest for color schemes.

BringFor children and family shoots bring a few of your child’s favorite things that make them smile (and I usually pack a few “bribes” or incentives for cooperating kiddos). It is amazing what my kids will do for a few Skittles! Also tissues, wet wipes, a brush and something to drink are always good to have. Seniors are welcome to bring a few different outfits, casual and dressy attire make for a fun variety of shots.
